So on my explorations of the internet I've found a sue litmus test. And much as I'd like to think I don't care, I'd still like to put Ruth through the mincer to be safe in my thoughts that she's good. There's going to be spoilers for potential fics here so be warned, basically. That's if I ever get about to writing them.

But yeah, doesn't really matter if she is anyway...

Rules:
1) Be honest with your answers. Unless you're honest; you're not going to know whether or not your character is a Sue.

That's the only rule. There will be lots of questions to be answered which all have their own little category. Afterwards, add all the points that you earned from each question and check out your result. This was not meant to offend anyone so I apologize if you're offended. This was meant to help people. Anyways, feel free to add this into your journal and have fun answering the questions.

What is the name of your character?
Ruth Allen

Does your character's name have some kind of special meaning? [2 points if yes]
Nope, not to my knowledge anyway. And if there is one it's completely unintentional.

Fandom:

What is/are the main fandom(s) your character is in? [3 points if in more then 1]
Supernatural. Just Supernatural.

Appearance:

Is your character unusually attractive? [3 points]
No, not especially. Hell she's covered in scars from hunting and near misses, her clothes she wears currently are ragged and stained and her hair is at times matted. She's plain jane at best, most of the time.

Does your character have some type of unusual characteristic? (ie. Cat ears, cat tail, unusual eye color, Unusual hair colors [firey red, blue, white, green, rainbow, purple and pink all count]) [4 points. 5 extra for Cat features if the character is in anime fandom]
Her hair and eyes are both average colours, the only thing that comes to mind is wings, but for a nephilim I wouldn't call that too unusual? Nephilim are canon...

Does your character's clothing resemble any canon character's? [2 points]
Maybe she'll wind up in tartan flannels eventually, but at the moment I don't think so. Most hunters take enough care of their clothes so they don't turn to rags whilst they're wearing them.

Does your character have animal characteristics? [Bat wings, animal ears, animalistic body ect...] [2 point]
I'll put the wings down on this one. Yes, she has wings.

Race/powers:

Is your character from a place that the fandom doesn't take place in? [3 points]
I've never stated what state she's from, prescisely. But, the show does take place in the states. She moved around a lot.

Is your character a demon? [3 points]
No.

Is your character related to a demon? [2 points]
No.

Is your character related to a supreme being? (ie, god/goddess, Satan, angels ect...) [6 points]
Yes. A nephilim, angel's kid, blah blah blah.

Is your character a supreme being? (Same as above) [6 points]
Supreme being? No.

Does your character practice witch craft? [2 points]
She'll put up warding when she has to, cast a spell when she has to, just the kind of stuff any hunter does. Which isn't witchcraft, witches are something that she hunts.

Can your character change form? [2 points]
No. But I will take a point here, because she can hide her wings; they're always there but not always visible.

Affair with canons:

Is your character in love with a canon?
In love with? No, not at this precise moment in time. Crushing on? Yes.

If so: who?
Total spoiler, don't say I didn't warn you. Adam Milligan.

Are they romantically involved? [4 points]
Not at this moment in time. She's too scared and knows that hunters and relationships don't go together. But, it'll wiggle a way out of her eventually. Whether or not they do end up together is another matter, however.

Do they end up having kids? [4 points]
LOL NO RUTH WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HANDLE PREGNANCY. And being around children 24/7? No I don't think she'd handle that at all.

Did they get married? [2 points]
Nope.

Do they have flaws in their relationship? [Not worth any points]
UM YES.

Are there other canons who lust over your character? [4 points. Extra 3 if more then one canon lusts after your character]
LOL NO.

Is your character related to any of the canons by blood? [2 points]
She's Balthazar's little girl... well, not so little. I thought I'd reitterated that enpugh already, but oh well.

Is your character in love with more then one canon? [2 points]
Nope.

Has your character had past romantic relationships with other canons? [7 points]
She's never had a boyfriend or girlfriend before. She knows it wouldn't work out so if she ever got feelings she'd bottle them up.

Does your character hate any of the canon characters and wishes to hurt/kill them? [6 points]
Not canon, no, or at least I don't think so. She isn't fond of angels at all, avoids them with good reason-- she isn't supposed to exist and knows that all too well --but despite hunting just stabbing and killing them without real cause isn't her style. She'll do what she has to to survive but isn't the mindless killing type. So I'll still say no, but take a couple of points.

History:

Has your character ever been involved with prostitution/drugs/child abuse/rape? [4 points]
Nope. I don't believe so anyway, despite moving around a lot her mom always did her best to keep her safe and well. As hard as it can be when you're both hunting and your eight year old has fucking wings.

Has your character had any tragedy in her past? [5 points]
Yes, the whole I-never-knew-my-daddy and mom's dead stuff yes I think all of that counts.

Total:
And Ruth scores approximately 20 or so. Making her a well-balanced character! Phew.

Results:
56-88= Uber sue; I'm sorry but your character is a total sue. Try not to make your character too powerful or too attractive. Maybe give your character some flaws and you can be sure to have an OC. Keep on developing your character; he/she has a lot potential.
41-55= Mary Sue. Your character is rough around the edges but with a little more polishing then your character will become a loveable OC. Maybe either give your character more or less flaws. Try to make them a bit more believeable and you will have an OC.
29-40= You have a very well balanced character. Good job on having a true OC.
20 and under= Anti sue. Why are you taking this?

I'm going to be such a mood kill and say that Sue test are basically just complete bullshit. It kinda shines through here as well since most of these questions are really generic about generic Sue traits, and since there can (and probably is? Idk I dont watch Supernatural..) people with animal like skills/body parts, and it immediately counts it as a Sue trait in the general case, it just kinda blows the whole thing by claiming that every character with wings and shit immediately gets Sue points, even if it would be canon.
The history and relationship parts are alright on general basis when compared to usual Sue traits tho, but its basically the powers and appearance parts that screw these things over.

..I feel like I need to clarify after this that I sont disagree with the results, since I dont think Ruth is a Sue at all. Its just the fact how generized these tests are how crap they end up being. If there only was fandom centric Sue tests instead..
